Sam Smith, the son of Rufus Smith and Leona (Bush) Smith, was born April 29, 1949 in Tahlequah, OK. He departed this life July 14, 2006 at his home in Bunch, OK at the age of 57.
On November 15, 1969, he was married to Florene Glass in Adair County.

His parents preceded him in death along with his brother Dewayne, two infant brothers and one infant sister.
 
Surviving Family includes his wife, Florene, of the home; two sons, Christopher Smith and wife, Natasha, of Stilwell, OK and Michael Wayne of Bunch, OK; four brothers, Edward Smith, Tommy Smith, Dallas Smith and wife, Connie, and Ben Smith, all of Stilwell, OK, four sisters, Norma Dearman and husband, Roy, and Loretta Sumter, all of Bunch, OK, Sarah Fourkiller and husband, Anthony Fourkiller, Kelly Goodrich and husband, Jacob, all of Stilwell, OK.
 
Services were held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2006 at Hart Memorial Chapel with Bro. Mike Glass officiating.

Interment followed at Red Bird Smith Cemetery in Vian, OK under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
