He dedicated 35 years of his life to education and football, teaching and coaching in Texas, Hawaii, and Oklahoma. Coaching was much more than a job to Gary; it was something he was passionate about and a way for him to make a difference in the lives of the young people he worked with. He was a dedicated coach who believed in showing up, working hard, staying positive, and encouraging others to be their best. The impact he had on his students and athletes will continue to live on through the many lives he touched. Outside of coaching and teaching, Gary loved being outdoors and spending his time building and creating things, especially for his kids. He enjoyed working out, watching movies, eating Rice Krispie Treats and washing it down with chocolate milk, and cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners. Boomer! Gary shared a special bond with his soul dog, Kai, who was always by his side. He found great joy in spending time with his granddogs, Lilo, Chief, and Luna, who brought him endless love and lots of kisses.
