Lena Ruth Welch the daughter of Forest Fountain and Daisy Blanche (Kennedy) Rogers was born October 17, 1942 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma and departed this life to be with the Lord on September 28, 2019 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years, 11 months and 11 days.

Ruth enjoyed life and loved her family. She enjoyed spending time gardening, cooking, crocheting and surfing the internet. Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she loved spending time with them. Ruth had begun writing several years ago, and she became very fond of it. She enjoyed putting her thoughts on paper and sharing them with her family and friends. Ruth touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children Leroy “Bosh” Welch; her brothers Tony Rogers, Jerry Rogers and Doyl Otis Rogers; and her sisters Hattie Kathrine Bennett, and Virginia May Hopkins.
 

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Evelyn Welch, Yvette Durossette and husband Frank and Darren Welch all of Stilwell; her sisters Winnie Christeen Hopkins and Jaunita June Duvall and husband James all of Stilwell; and her grandchildren who called her, “Nanny Goat”, Dalton Perse of Muskogee, Layson Lee Welch of Stilwell and Laniston Maylee Welch of Stilwell. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.
 

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Akins Cemetery with Bro. Glenn Hopkins officiating. Burial is under the direction of Hart Funeral Home.
