Perry Allen Monholland, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. He was born on February 13, 1948, in Coweta, Oklahoma. Perry grew up in Oklahoma City and was a proud graduate of Capitol Hill High School, Class of 1966. Shortly after high school, he began a life rooted in dedication and service. In August of 1966, Perry married the love of his life, Rena Faye Raines.
Together, they built a strong and loving marriage and raised three children: Perry, Nathaniel, and Teresa. In 1968, Perry enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country honorably until his discharge in 1970. Following his military service, he worked as a truck driver for the City of Oklahoma City, a position he held with pride until his retirement in 1979.After retiring, Perry and Rena embraced a quieter life together, relocating from Oklahoma City and making their homes in Dale, McLoud, and Meeker over the next 20 years. For the past 21 years, they had been residents of Shawnee, where Perry was a faithful member of Living Love Christian Center.
Perry was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association and carried deep respect for his fellow veterans. He found great joy in the simple pleasures of life—fishing, tending to large gardens, and relaxing while watching his favorite classic westerns, especially Hopalong Cassidy. His steady presence, gentle spirit, and love for his family will be deeply missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Billy Wayne, David, William, and Larry; and two sisters, Donna and Carolyn. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Rena Faye Monholland; two sons, Perry E. Monholland and his wife, Elizabeth, and Nathaniel Ray Monholland and his wife, Tammy; his daughter, Teresa Lynn Monholland; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his sister, Joyce; and a host of extended family and friends.
