Donald Ray Peaster, 76, Peaster TV & Appliance owner, died Wednesday. Visitation 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Home, and service 11 a.m. Monday, First United Methodist Church.Funeral service for Donald Ray Peaster will be 11 a.m., Mon., May 18, at First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ray Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service & Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sun. 1-6 p.m., and family will be greeting friends 4-6 p.m.

Donald died Wed., May 13, 2009, at the age of 76.

The son of Otto Harold and Annie Mae (Boyd) Peaster was born July 30, 1932, in Claremore. Donald graduated from Alva High School in 1951; and on July 3, 1953, married Betty Dick. They made their home in Claremore and Donald went to work for Montgomery Ward's. In 1976, he opened Peaster TV & Appliance. Donald was a member of Rotary Club, and American Legion Post 141. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and OU. Donald especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a past president of Claremore All Sports Booster Association (CASBA), and enjoyed coaching Little League baseball and wrestling. He also followed NASCAR and enjoyed watching Bill Elliott and Mark Martin.

Donald was preceded in death by his daughter, Denisa Kae Mays; his parents; and his sisters: Betty Ellison and Novella Peaster.

He is survived by his sons: Donald Ray Peaster, Jr. of Claremore, Douglas Jay Peaster of Claremore, Darren Tay Peaster and wife, Debby of Claremore, and Derek Vay Peaster and wife, Leigh of Lumberton, TX; daughters: Debra Gae Long and husband, Bryan of Claremore, and Deanna Dae Peaster-Howard of Friendswood, TX; brothers: Keith Leon Peaster of Bartlesville, Bill Gene Peaster of Murfreesboro, TN, Leroy Earl Peaster of Brunoy, France, Phillip Dean Peaster of Edmond, and Tommy Lee Peaster of Foyil; sisters: Louise Bledsoe of Oklahoma City, Helen Herndon of Claremore and Barbara Kelsey of Claremore; 14 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
