Wilma Jean (Romine) Chambers
March 17, 1941 - March 14, 2025
Tulsa, OK
Memorial services for Wilma Jean "Willie" (Romine) Chambers, 83, of Tulsa, OK, were held Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Chapel in Sperry, OK. Phil Johnson officiated. Honorary Casket bearers were Trenton Chambers, Jason Smalley, Wyatt Lee, Fletch Draper, Weston Perkins, and Miles Draper.
Wilma, known by many as "Willie", was born March 17, 1941, in Tulsa, OK, to Ralph D. Romine and Irene Maxine (Stroud) Romine. She passed away March 14, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.
Willie loved to cook; that was her way of showing her love. Holiday gatherings were filled with the warmth of her homemade favorites - sausage balls that Doug and Travis couldn't resist, squash casserole that Jenn loved, and her unforgettable Thanksgiving stuffing that everyone looked forward to. She never forgot to make deviled eggs just for Stacey, and her homemade Chex mix was simply the best. That is just a short list. Willie could always be found on the sidelines, cheering on her grandchildren in all of the sports they participated in, as well as her great-grandchildren. Willie lived a good long life; she was tough as nails on and lived life on her own terms, with strength and resilience that defied the odds even to the very end, outliving her 8 siblings and her husband, and left a left behind a legacy of love, perseverance, and cherished memories. We often joked that she might just outlive us all. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit, wisdom, and unwavering love will remain in our hearts forever.
Rest in Peace, Mom.
She is survived by her children, Kellie Wheeler and husband, Mike, Dee Smalley and husband, Doug, Stacey Taylor and Cindy Kirk; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Chambers; parents, Ralph and Irene Romine; 3 sisters; and 5 brothers.
Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
