Rev. Leroy Dewey
February 14, 1927 - April 21, 2007

Rev. Leroy Junior Dewey, an ordained minister of 54 years in the Assembly of God Church whom pastured churches throughout Arkansas and Oklahoma, passed into his eternal reward April 21, 2007 at 6:30 pm. He died in his home at 20810 East Hwy 28A, Chelsea, OK, surrounded by numerous family and friends.

He was born February 14, 1927 at Bushyhead, Oklahoma to Roy and Jennie Bennett Dewey. He is survived by: His wife of 57 years, 10 month- Murlene Watkins Dewey; Two sons: Mickey Dewey and wife Teresa Tibbs Dewey of Chelsea, Oklahoma; Jimmy Dewey and wife Carol Remington Dewey of Chelsea, Oklahoma; One daughter: Dorothy Dewey Mullis and husband Brent Mullis of Chelsea, Oklahoma; One sister: Neva Dewey Smith of Adair, Oklahoma; Six Grandchildren: Melissa Dewey Tyler, Clint Dewey, Angie Dewey, Anthony Dewey, Jamie Mullis Veysey - All of Chelsea, Oklahoma and Alan Mullis of Carolyna Beach, North Carolina; Nine Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Leroy was preceded in death by : His parents: Roy Dewey and Jennie Bennett Dewey, One Brother: Six Sisters and 4 Infant Siblings, One Grandson, Jeremy Mullis and One Great Granddaughter, Alissa Tyler. Pall Bearers: Delmer Watkins, Larry Wisdom, Sr., Steve Smith, Curtis Widsom, Pete Smith and Clifford Frye. Honorary Pall Bearers: Michael Cannonie, Shane Watkins, Ryan Watkins, Jason Watkins, Danny Watkins, Davey Watkins, Darrell Watkins, Sammy Frye, Delbert Frye, Delmer Frye, Gene Wisdom, Levi Goodson, Joe Dewey, Gary Smith, Connie Smith, Kenny Smith, Anual Wisdom, Ronnie Smith and Cleo Wisdom.

Services will be held at the Chelsea First Assembly of God Church, Chelsea, OK on Thursday April 26, 2007 at 2:00 PM. Officiated by his son, Jimmy Dewey and Grandson Anthony Dewey, Assisted by Rev. Allen Dunn and Rev. Jack DaMico. Services are under the direction of Seaman-Blanke Funeral Service of Chelsea, OK. Family visitation will be Wed. night April 25, 2007 from 5:30-8:30 PM.
