Reena Cox
August 1, 1943 - June 6, 2025

A memorial service to celebrate and remember the life of Reena Cox will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, in the chapel at DeLozier Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Chelsea Cemetery. Reena passed away in Tulsa on Friday, June 6, 2025. She was 81.

Born in Murphy, North Carolina on August 1, 1943, to Lee Owen "Mutt" and Delce (Adams) Williams. Reena was raised and educated in several different states because of her father's work. She did, though, receive most of her schooling in Fairland, OK and attended Fairland Public Schools. Reena married her first love and the father of her children Johnny Lee Rowley on February 4, 1961, when they eloped in Madison Co., Arkansas. Following the wedding they lived in Tulsa for a short time then Fairland until they bought the 5 acres on the outskirts of Chelsea and built the family home where all 5 children were raised. Following the death of her husband, Reena married Kenneth "Kenny" Cox in Tallahassee, Florida. They became a blended family with 5 children, Kevin, Keith, Brandie, Jolynn, and Cindy. Reena helped provide for her family working as the restaurant manager at the Bronco Inn in Chelsea.

A lady that found the simple pleasures of life were the best. Reena enjoyed flea markets and yard sales. According to her family, if she saw a sign about a garage or yard sale; she was there. Reena was very proud of the fact that throughout her life she had lived in every state in the Union except Alaska and Hawaii. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers brought her countless hours of enjoyment. When grandchildren came along, "Gigi" excelled at her role of grandmother just as she had at being a mother. She had a unique relationship with each of her grandchildren. One thing that was for sure, Reena's smile was the brightest when all of her family could be together. No story about Reena would be complete unless you mentioned her love of chihuahua dogs. In fact, her family said that her 2 favorites, Penny and Pinky; filled Reena's days with much enjoyment.

This lady that did life her way has left a legacy that will live on for years to come in the lives of her family and friends. Reena is survived by her children, Kevin Rowley and wife Carol, Allen "Keith" Rowley and Dana Miller, Brandie Songy and husband Jayme, Jolynn Takapu and husband Morningstar, and Cindy Wilson, grandchildren, Hailey Langley and husband Dustin, Bailey Paul and husband Justin, Kevin Lee Rowley, Kyle Rowley, Kent Rowley and wife Maria, Kody Rowley, Justin Rowley and wife Kimberly, Candice Stenger, Brittany Takapu, Shania Takapu, Morningstar Takapu Jr., Ashley Fitzgerald-Brown and wife Cassidy, Megan Holt, Daphne Flood, and Craig Flood, 28 great grandchildren, and 13 great great grandchildren with one more on the way. Reena was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Johnny Lee Rowley, and Kenny Cox, sister, Tallulah, brother, Bill Williams.
