John Kirk Tomlinson was born in Clark County, Illinois August 22, 1869 and passed away May 26, 1946 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 4 days in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Vance Estes of Dalhart, Texas.

He was united in marriage to Sallie Giddens, March 3, 1903 at Weatherford, Oklahoma.

Eight years ago he confessed Jesus Christ and was baptized. Before he passed away he said he expected to meet his loved ones in Heaven and asked them not to weep.

His son, Jasper preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his wife, three daughters, Mrs. J. Ray Holland of Portales, New Mexico; Mrs. Ralph Taylor of Spearman, Texas; Mrs. Vance Estes of Dalhart, Texas; two sons, Sherman Giddens of Mt. Vernon, Arkansas; and Norvell Gidden of Allison, Texas; several grandchildren and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 27th, 1946 at the Assembly of God Church, Reydon by Rev. J. S. Veach of Cheyenne.

Interment was in White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
