Submitted by: Wanda Purcell

Cecilia Snyder was born near Meadville, Pennsylvania January 26, 1859 and died January 6, 1943, at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 11 days. Her death was sudden although her health had been failing for two years.

Aunt Cecilia, as she was always known, was the oldest of eight children, two brothers and six sisters.

She grew up a splendid girl, was ever her mother's helper in bringing up the other children and then keeping house for her father, after the other children were gone from home.

Her parents were William and Sarah Snyder.

When Cecilia was about 13 the family moved from Pennsylvania to Chase City, Virginia, where they lived for about three years, then back to Pennsylvania for three years, then to Mitchelville, Iowa, and on to Audubon, Iowa.

In October, 1906, Cecilia came to Oklahoma, making her home with her relatives.

She was converted when a young woman and had membership with several churches during her life.

For the last year she has lived with her sister, Mrs. E. V. Miller where she will always be missed, but she has left all pain and sorrow for a better home as this life is only a stopping place, but should be a preparation for a happier place.

Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn her departure William. A. Snyder of Beaumont, California; Mary E. Johnson of Audubon, Iowa; Mrs. Sylvia E. Ewgan of Hamblin, Iowa; and Mrs. E. V. Miller of Reydon; sixteen neices and nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Horace Woodard, pastor of the Baptist church, assisted by Bro. John C. Spurlin, Friday at 2 p.m. at the community building.

Interment in White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
