Winnie Alice Brown SibleyWinnie Alice Sibley was born June 6, 1915 in Grand, Oklahoma in northern Roger Mills county to Clarence and Mary Elizabeth Younger Brown.

She passed away October 9, 2012 at Pampa, Texas at the age of 97 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Winnie attended school at Cordell, Bellview, Cheyenne and Durham.

She moved to Arnett where she met Clovis Sibley and they were married at Cheyenne, Oklahoma on November 23, 1932.

They lived in the Arnett area until moving to Durham where they farmed, ran the telephone office and Winnie cooked at the Durham school. She loved all the students she cooked for and helped during her time there.

In 1953 they moved to Fritch, Texas to make their home, even though Durham remained her home in her heart..

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Rockey; and four brothers, Jim, Mike, Huey and C. A. Brown; and a son-in-law, Lonnie Joe Haven.

She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Jean Haven of Reydon, Oklahoma; her son, Norman Jay Sibley and wife, Billy Pearl of Fritch, Texas; three grandchildren, Clovis Haven, Jack Sibley and Jay Sibley; five great grandchildren, Rachel, Sara, Nichole, Adam, and Trisha; five great great grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews, including Ronnie Sibley and wife, special friends Martha Haven and Jaquita Sibley; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the White Rose Cemetery officiated by Jack Sibley.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
