Submitted by: Wanda Purcell

This week we chronicle the death of Ms. Laura Herbert which occurred in the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. W. Crane of this city, Wednesday, February the 4th, 1920.

Mrs. Herbert had been sick just one week with an ailment resembling bronchitis and pneumonia which her strength was not sufficient to oversome.

Mrs. Herbert was born in Richmond, Texas in 1845 making her seventy five years of age at the time of her deceased.

She had been a resident of Roger Mills county.

She leaves six children, three sons and three daughters to mourn her loss. Three of them are residents of our county. They are Edward Herbert and Albert Herbert, both of Rankin; and Mrs. E. W. Crane of Cheyenne.

Funeral services were conducted at the graveside by J. M. Wileman after which the remains were laid to rest by the side of those of her husband in the Rankin {White Rose} cemetery.
