Oscar Calvin Hamon was born August 11, 1925 in Midway, Oklahoma to Mable Clara and Earl Augusta Hamon.

He passed away August 17, 2009 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years and 6 days.

Oscar grew up in Roger Mills county and entered the United States Army where he served his country during World War II in the European Theatre.

He was married to Erma Leola Harrison at Perryton, Texas on June 7, 1947.

They lived in Oklahoma, Kansas, Oregon and Texas before moving to Reydon in 1962 where Oscar started with the Rural Electric Cooperative.

He later worked at Dobson Telephone and Roger Mills county until his retirement.

He is survived by three daughters, Darlene Harmon and husband Bill of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Vicki Carey and husband Ronnie of Canute, Oklahoma; Diane Trammell and husband Billy, Jr. of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills county, Oklahoma officiated by Dr. Alberta Helton.

Interment will be under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
