Andrew Chisholm Prestridge--To Larkin and Minerva Prestridge on August 25, 1870, a son was born, Andrew Chisholm, Andy C., as everyone knew him in Hood County, Texas.

At the age of 16 they moved to Tom Green county, Texas.

When 23 years of age he was united in marriage with Lula Maude Cofer at Tennyson, Texas. To this union two children were born, Cletice Ivory and Larkin Augustus, "Pete" as everyone called him.

They moved to Indian Territory to the present town of Ardmore, Oklahoma. Here both children were born.

In 1899 they moved to Strong City where they homesteaded a farm which they made their home for 54 years, then moved to Cheyenne.

It was on this farm where their children grew up and where he enjoyed his grandchildren.

During these years he served 20 years on the Snaky Bend and Strong City school board.

He and his family were charter members of the First Baptist church of Strong City, he being a deacon for 40 years ever faithful.

He lived a very good and faithful life, always ready to help anyone in need. Everyone who knew him remembers him as a good, Christian man.

He departed this life in the Cheyenne Hospital Saturday, June 27, 1953 at the age of 82 years, 10 months and two days.

His dear wife, both children, and all his brothers preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his only sister, Mrs. Sarah West of Lawton, Oklahoma; his son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kendall of Torrance, California; and six grandchildren, Florence Gray of Liberal, Kansas; Muriel Adams of Fresno, California; Dorothy Summit of Elk City, Oklahoma; Louise Greteman of Canute, Oklahoma; Elwyn Kendall of Rockledge, Florida; Jack Kendall or Rockledge, Florida; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was truly a great man in every respect an ideal family man, a loyal man of God, a good civic worker in his community and has now gone to receive his reward and be reunited with his family.

Burial in Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
