Doris Myrtle Hitt Cogburn

Doris Myrtle Hitt was born in Palmyra, Missouri October 2, 1884 and departed from this life at Elk City on April 1, 1953.

She was converted at an early age and joined the Methodist church.

At the age of 17 years she moved to Eakly, Oklahoma.

On February 3, 1903, she was united in marriage to Charles Richard Cogburn at Arapaho and immediately moved to Roger Mills county, four miles southeast of Strong City, where she lived until the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1943.

She leaves to mourn her passing five children, Mrs. Goldie Trammell of Cheyenne; Mrs. Gladys Little of North Platte, Nebraska; Robert Cogburn of Strong City; Mrs. Flora Belle Johnson of Elk City; Sidney Cogburn of Strong City; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church of Cheyenne.

Burial was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Scroggins Funeral Home, Cheyenne, in charge of arrangements.
