Gene Weeks -- Funeral services for Gene Weeks were held Sunday afternoon at the Crawford community building. Rev. A. L. Martin gave the funeral sermon.
Committal was in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins Funeral Home of Cheyenne.
Gene Weeks was born April 2, 1908 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma the son of Billy and Ella Weeks, both of whom preceded him in death.
He departed this life April 17, 1958 at Alamogordo, New Mexico, just days after his 50th birthday.
He was united in marriage to Lena Hay December 17, 1927 at Cheyenne.
To this union one daughter was born.
He united with the Baptist church at Breezy Meadow.
He lived in the Roll community all his life except the last few years when he moved to Alamogordo because of his health.
He was a man of high principles and a friend to all who knew him.
He was a good husband and father and accomplished with satisfaction every task to which he laid his hand.
He is survived by his wife, Lena of Alamogordo, New Mexico; his daughter, Miss Pauline Beebe of Phillips, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ray Ballard of Rockyford, Colorado; and Mrs. Charlie Beall of Pond Creek, Oklahoma; two grandsons, Dennis and Dannie Beebe; and a host of other relatives and friends.
