Death came to Mrs. Earnest Stephenson, Wednesday, February 13, 1946 at her home near Roll, after a long illness due to cancer.
Funeral services were conducted in the auditorium of the Breezy Meadow school building Friday afternoon with Rev. Horace Woodard of Reydon delivering the funeral sermon.
Burial was in the Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Tunnard Funeral Home of Cheyenne.
Clara E. Bowman was born at Burnett, Oklahoma January 11, 1898 and passed from life February 13, 1946 at the age of 48 years, one month and two days.
She moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma with her parents at the age of five years and has resided in this vicinity since that time.
She was united in marriage to Earnest Stephenson October 21, 1917. To this union two children were born, one of whom died in infancy.
At an early age she became a Christian and became a member of the Free Will Baptist church.
She lead a Christian life and was loved by all. During her long illness she was patient, kind and appreciative.
She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, Earnest Stephenson; one daughter, Earnestine Collins of the home address; four sisters, Mrs. W. H. Batchelor; and Mrs. Vern Taylor of Reydon; Mrs. Lloyd Scott of Strong City; and Miss Lorne Bowman of Wichita, Kansas; three brothers, Ebe Bowman of Reydon; Charley Bowman of Carlsbad, New Mexico; and Albert Bowman of Madera, California; besides a host of other relatives and friends.
