Leslie Bailey Smith was born in Grayson County, Texas August 28, 1906. {According to birth certificate he was born on August 6, 1906}.
He departed this life January 20, 1973.
He married Ethel Lucille McClellan at Sayre, Oklahoma on November 3, 1928. To this union were born six children, Bonita Beals of Strong City, Oklahoma; Loretta Sexton and Jeweleen Martindale of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Leslie Dwayne and Billymack Smith of Weatherford, Texas.
Those preceding him in death are his mother, Lydia Jan Hendrix Smith; one sister, Floreen Fitzgerald; one daughter, Patricia Williams; and a granddaughter, Leslie June Smith.
Survivors are his wife of the home; his father, Mr. W. W. Smith of Phoenix, Arizona; and brothers Coy of Dumas, Texas; Robert Dale "R. D." of Johnson, Kansas; Dewey of Ft. Worth, Texas; Udell of Rolls, Texas; four sisters, Opal Hayworth; Effie Biggs of Denver, Colorado; Nadine Drake of Phoenix, Arizona; Frankie Weatherford of Calipatria, California; nine grandchildren, Lonnie, Terry and Gail Beals of Strong City, Oklahoma; Jean Beals Whiteneck of Lahoma, Oklahoma; Joan Beals Taylor of Borger, Texas; Janet Smith and Darrell Smith of Weatherford, Texas; and Susan Sexton and Michael Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas.
Leslie made a profession of faith in the later years of his life.
Pall bearers were Mac Taylor, Terry Drake, Don Whiteneck, Roy McClellan, Coy Gene Smith and Leroy Weatherly.
