Marie Dora Bornemann Schmidt was born at Geddings, Texas, January 15, 1879 to Henry and Sinna Bornemann.
She passed away at 9:30 a.m. September 14, 1961 at the Community Hospital after an extended illness.
She became a member of the Lutheran Church at an early age.
She was married to Paul A. Schmidt in 1910 and to this union were born a son, Fred and a daughter Amelia.
They resided two miles west of Crawford until 1920 then moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma, until 1938. They retired and made their home in Cheyenne.
Mr. Schmidt preceded her in death in 1949.
For the past five years, Mrs. Schmidt has lived in the Creswell Rest Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.
She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Fred Schmidt of Durham, Oklahoma; and a daughter, Amelia West, of Amarillo, Texas; a grandson Ronald Schmidt of Durham, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Regina and Aleta Schmidt of Durham, Oklahoma; one sister Emelia Ecklunk of Bryan, Texas; and one brother, William Bornemann of Austin, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Interment in Silent Home cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
