Wayne Leo Sadler of Reydon, Oklahoma was born January 23, 1917 in Durham, Oklahoma to Ethel Mae and Daniel Sadler. He passed away March 6, 2004 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 13 days.
He started school at Clearwater, Kansas before attending Crawford and Durham schools. He graduated from Durham High School in 1937.
After graduating, he continued his education at Oklahoma A&M.
Wayne entered the U.S. Army and served his country during World War II.
After his discharge, he returned to Durham and worked for Charlie Lippencott as a welder and mechanic. He later began working as a pipeliner on natural gas pipelines.
He was married to Ressie Eileen Springer at Clovis, New Mexico on January 15, 1956.
They moved to Washington State where they remained for 12 years. They returned to Oklahoma and lived in the Durham and Crawford communities until making their home in Reydon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen Cockrell, Dorothy Reynolds and Virginia McGlothlin; and three brothers, Merrill, Kenneth and Gerald Sadler.
Survivors include his wife Ressie of the home; four children, Daniel A. Sadler and wife, Pat of San Bernadino, California; Lynn Sadler of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Susan J. Blythe and husband John of San Bernardino, California; Janice K. Bailey of San Bernardino, California; ten grandchildren; sixteen great great grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Baker of Crawford, Oklahoma; and Zelma Widener of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; four brothers, Claude Sadler of Reydon, Oklahoma; Dan Sadler of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; Eugene Sadler of Amarillo, Texas; Rex Sadler of Lone Grove, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held March 9, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Reydon Community Building officiated by Dale Westbrook.
Burial will be at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
