Funeral services were held Saturday, July 4, 1942 at 3:00 p.m. in the Silent Home Church for Julius Beale "J. B." Powers of Durham. Rev. M. A. Hawkins officiated.
J. B. was born November 8, 1920 near Berlin, Oklahoma.
He departed his life near Perryton, Texas, July 2, 1942 at the age of 21 years, eight months and 24 days.
At an early age he moved with his parents to near Sayre where he attended his first year of school. In 1937 his family moved to the Crawford community where he attended high school.
J. B. leaves to mourn his departure his parents; three brothers, Delbert, Jimmie, and Jackie of Durham; four sisters, Mrs. Lester Walker of Cheyenne; Mrs. Jimmie Stephenson of El Reno; and Mae and Jeanne Powers of Durham; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. Powers of Durham; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Burial in Silent Home cemetery, Roll.
