Donald Keith “DK” Merwin passed away at his home north of Cheyenne, Oklahoma at the age of 72.  DK  was born to James Wesley and Nancy Maude Carmean (Green) Merwin on June 18, 1945.  

He married his forever love, Sammie Lee Butler, on December 24, 1970 in Vera Cunha, Mexico. DK had many jobs throughout his lifetime including, Radio Towers, Oilfield Roustabout and some construction, both residential and commercial. He was most fond of his time with the H.C. Jeffries Tower Company where he made lifelong friends with Mr. Jeff Jeffries family. DK worked very hard for many years to provide for his loving wife and 3 children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Alvie Eugene “Gene” Merwin, Margie Bell Ritchie, Melvin “Mug” Merwin, James Wesley “Popeye” Merwin, Doris June “Doe” Anthony and Samuel Enoch “Sam” Merwin, and a granddaughter, Nexis Mariah Carmean Boden.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Sammie Lee, of the home; his loving children, Tina Lea McKinnon and husband, Jason, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, James Wesley “Jim” Merwin and wife, Angie, of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Nancy Maudie Carmean Boden and husband, Seth, of Electra, Texas; an older brother, Jerry Lee Merwin of Eldorado, Texas; 15 grandchildren who he treasured with every fiber of his heart and soul; 9 great grandchildren, the babies who brought joy with every visit; two more great grandchildren on the way who he will watch over and help guide with gentle winds and words of wisdom from heaven

The family would like to thank each and everyone who has held our hearts and hands in this unthinkable time of need may God bless everyone who has touched the lives of the Merwin family. Healers, Nurses, Aides, People of the Lord, Friends in life, Brothers and Sisters in heart. A special thank you goes to Brenda Hartley and Dr. Alberta Helton for their support and the Reydon Community Church for bringing a little light to such a dark time for our family. God Bless.
