Kenneth Neal "Butch" Kendall was born February 25, 1953 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma to Carl and Betty Montgomery Kendall. He passed away May 2, 2009 at Amarillo, Texas at the age of 56 years 2 months and 7 days.
Neal grew up in the small town of Roll, Oklahoma and attended school at Crawford, Oklahoma. He later made his home in Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Neal volunteered at the Clothes Closet and worked at Hanawalt Variety Store where he was in charge of hardware.
He enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, bowling and playing solitaire.
The highlight of his day was going to the Senior Citizen Center and visiting with friends.
Neal helped his mother around the house, ran errands and did yard work.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Kenneh Kendall; two sisters, Carla Kendall Compton, Judy Kendall Smith and stepfather Bill Hanawalt.
Butch is survived by his mother, Betty Hanawalt; three sisters, Ginger Pope and husband Rodney of Sayre, Oklahoma; Jalene Parkhurst and husband Austin of Mannford, Oklahoma; Kimberly Rogers and husband Clay of Nevada, Missouri; one brother, Roger Kendall and wife Judith of Melbourne, Australia; and several nephews, nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were held Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Cheyenne United Methodist Church officiated by Dr. Billy Wheeler and Rev. Greg Keith.
Burial followed at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
