Funeral services for Kaye Gilliland will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne with Rev. Aubrey Cowan and Rev. Terrell Romberg officiating. Burial will follow in the Silent Home Cemetery under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City.

Mary Katherine Gilliland was born October 12, 1942 at Hammon to Emery C. and Velma Lee (Walker)(sic) Ackley and died Saturday at the age of 54. She attended school at Hammon and Amarillo, TX and graduated from Hammon High School in 1960. She then graduated from Paul s Beauty College in Oklahoma City in 1962. She operated beauty shops in Hammon and Cheyenne until her health failed in 1988 and she closed her business. Kaye was married to Charles Leon Gilliland on July 3, 1966 at Cheyenne. Mr. Gilliland preceded her in death on May 8, 1986. Kaye was president of the Thunderbird Association (a hairdresser and modeling competition) from 1964 thru 1968. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Cheyenne.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include; three children, Charles Ross Gilliland of Orlando, FL; Suzie Lowrance and her husband Garry of Oklahoma City and Leonna Kaye Gilliland of Yukon; four grandchildren; two sisters, Floreta Jo Seright of Oklahoma City and Alta Ann Bergerson of Gary, LA and one brother, J. T. Ackley of Elk City.
