Anderson Williamson "Dub" Garver, Jr

A. W. "Dub" Garver was born November 9, 1918 in Midway, Oklahoma to Ethel Leana and Anderson W. Garver.
He passed away November 6, 2003 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 84 years 11 months and 27 days.
 
Dub moved with his family to New Mexico when he was a child before returning to Oklahoma with his uncle. He later lived with his sister near Reydon before enlisting in the United States Army and serving his country during World War II. After his discharge, he worked as a cowboy and a jockey in New Mexico, Texas and Oklahoma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother and one brother, Troy Garver.

He is survived by two daughters, Donna Chambers and husband Joe of Boys Ranch, Texas; and Jackie Abernathy and husband George of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two sisters, Katie Tice of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; and Hester Hickey of Reydon, Oklahoma; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services were held at the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, Saturday, November 8, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Don Harrold.
Services were under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
