Funeral services were held Monday, March 21, 1977 in the Crawford Auditorium for Wester Winnett Duke who passed away in the Buffalo Hospital, March 18, 1977.
He was born September 9, 1896, in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
April 7, 1929, he married Winnie McClennahan at Elk City.
They farmed in the Midway and Crawford communities until moving to Clinton in 1955 then to Enid before moving to Ft. Supply in 1959 where he was employed with the Western State Hospital.
He was a member of the Methodist Church and a veteran of World War I.
His parents, Jeff and Texie Duke; one sister; one infant grandson, Ricky Eugene Ator; and one great grandchild, Jennifer Ellen Davis preceded him in death.
Survivors are his wife, Winnie of the home; four daughters, Ruby Sattler of Ojai, California; Lois Ator of Amarillo, Texas; Vinita Fair of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Nadine Steele of Lehigh Acres, Florida; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild, Shandi Dawn Davis; one brother, J. W. Duke of Cheyenne; and one sister, Mrs. Jewell McCain of Amarillo, Texas.
Those serving as pallbearers were Gerald Keahey, Vernon Keahey, Lee Townsley, Rex Dickason, Jack Lucas and Otto Ator.
Interment was in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel.
