J. H. Branch, 62, of Rt. 1 Crawford was born in Marietta, Oklahoma to Henry R. and Ora Bell Branch, August 21, 1924 and passed away Sunday morning, January 11, 1987 at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City following an extended illness.
Mr. Branch spent his early years in the Velma, Oklahoma community with his parents.
In the fall of 1943 he entered the service. Following World War II, he was employed with the Civil Service on the island of Guam for 13 years. He returned to the states in 1959.
On March 15, 1961, he was married to Alice Evelyn Spencer in Tucumcari, New Mexico.
They lived in California until 1965 when they moved to Boise City, Oklahoma and on to Roger Mills county in 1975, where he was a rancher.
Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of the home; two daughters, Vicky Charlene Collins of Boise City, Oklahoma; Charlotte Sue Shaw of Boulevard, California; one son, Ricky Lynn Guy of Crawford, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Ora Shell of Cheyenne; two sisters, Maurine Wood of Duncan, Oklahoma; Maggie Fisher of Stockton, California; and one brother, Jerry Branch of Crawford, Oklahoma.
Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, January 13, 1987 at 2:00 p.m. in the Silent Home Cemetery with James McMullen officiating.
Burial followed under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Cheyenne.
