Betty Jo Mitchell Baker was born April 16, 1925, at Wheeler, Texas and departed this life August 7, 1956, in the General hospital at Hobart, Oklahoma.
In infancy she moved with her family to Cheyenne, living there until she was five years old, when they moved into the Crawford community where she attained her schooling and grew to womanhood.
On August 10, 1941, she was united in marriage to Guy Price Baker. Friday would have been their 15th wedding anniversary. To this union was born two children, Jolene and Guy Clark.
She was converted at an early age and lived a Christian life.
She was a devoted wife and mother and spread joy and happiness to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband and two children; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Mitchell of Hobart; four brothers, J. D. of Borger, Texas; Bill and John of Pampa, Texas; and George, who is in the U.S. Air Force; four sisters, Mrs. J. M. King of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Dale Penrod of Hobart; Mrs. Vincel Fritch of Okmulgee; and Mrs. R. J. Talley of Palo, Missouri; her parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Don Baker of Durham; three brothers-in-law, and their families, Dale Baker of Oklahoma City; Edward Baker of Beaver; and Henry Baker, also of Beaver; as well as nephews, nieces, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at Crawford Friday, August 10, 1956 and interment was at Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, with Scroggins Funeral Home in charge.
Officiating at the funeral services were Rev. Sanford Cole and Rev. A. L. Martin.
