SHAW REDINGER FUNERAL HOME
VICI, DEWEY CO, OK
(permisson granted)

Wanda Elizabeth (Owens) Wohl Meyer passed away Saturday March 18, 2017 in her home west of Leedey, OK attended by her husband of 44 years.

She was born October 6, 1929 in Dewey County in the half-dugout on the family farm to Charley and Florence (Ferrell) Owens. She was the oldest of six siblings.
Wanda attended grade school at Rhea School, graduating from Leedey High School in 1947. She was a member of the Church of Christ. In 1948, she was united in marriage to Andrew John Wohl. To this union 3 children were born, Kenneth Wayne, Donald Gene, and Lometa Fern.

After farming for several years around the Rhea area, they moved to Midland, TX where Andy was a surveyor for Shell Oil Co. They moved back to Clinton in 1966 to enter into a partnership in a gas station with his brother Frank Wohl. In 1968, Andy drowned in the family pond in Rhea.

In 1972, Wanda married Delbert Meyer of Leedey, OK. This marriage added two more daughters, Deborah and Kathy, to the family. Wanda and Delbert (Ma and Pa, as they are affectionately known by family) settled on Delbert’s farm in Leedey where Wanda enjoyed farming right behind Delbert in “her” tractor. She also enjoyed canning, gardening, sitting on the back porch watching the hummingbirds, family time, loving to play “Heck if You Do and Heck if You Don’t”, and mowing the grass beside Delbert on their “his” and “hers” riding lawn mowers. Wanda never missed a ballgame that her grandchildren were playing in and always knew the scores.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Florence Owens, husband Andy Wohl, brother Charles Leonard Owens, son Kenneth Wohl Sr., and granddaughter Jaci Basler.

Survivors include her husband Delbert of the home; son Donald Wohl (Gail) of Arapaho, OK; daughters Deborah Meyer of Upland, CA, Kathy Dodson (Gary) of Putnam, OK and Lometa Lee (David) of Arapaho, OK; daughter-in-law Tarena Wohl of Leedey, OK; twelve grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way; siblings Arveta Bailey (Kenneth) of Oklahoma City, OK, Thelma Mae Craig of Leedey, OK, Patsy Gragg (Bobby) of Butler, OK, and Chester “Frog” Owens (Barbara) of Leedey, OK; and numerous other relatives and friends.
