Funeral services for Kay Vickers Tomberlin will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2022, at the College Hill Church of Christ with Steve Hamm officiating.

Interment will be 2:30 p.m. at the Red Hill Cemetery south of Hammon, Oklahoma, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Kay Vickers Tomberlin, daughter of the late Frank Rosenthal and Betty Jo (Dobson) Vickers, was born November 11, 1952, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, and passed away October 12, 2022, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 69 years, 11 months and one day.

Kay attended school in Jet, graduated from Alva High School, and attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. On July 1, 1971, she was united in marriage to Steven Ray Tomberlin in Jet, Oklahoma. They lived in Alva for several years before moving to Sayre. She worked as a loan secretary in a bank. She returned to Alva six years ago.
 

She was an active member of the Church of Christ, both in Alva and in Sayre. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and knitting, as well as painting. She was a good cook and loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Steve; two sisters, Ann Clem and Sue Vickers; one grandson, Kevin Tomberlin; and her brother-in-law, Gene Vickers.
 

Kay is survived by three sons, Chad Tomberlin and wife, Jennifer, of Alva, Joshua Tomberlin and wife, Cindy, of Alva, and Heath Tomberlin of Enid; one sister, Linda Vickers of Portland, Oregon; and her sister-in-law Machelle Wilson and husband, David, of Tulsa.
 

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Blaine Tomberlin and wife, Alissa, of Alva, Bentley Tomberlin of Alva, Cash and Cody Tomberlin, both of Hardtner, Kansas, Jacob Summers and wife, Raylie, of Attica, Kansas, Anthony Summers of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, and Steven Jack Tomberlin of Alva; five great-grandchildren, Paislee and Avery Summers of Attica, Kansas, Dawson and Mason Summers of Medicine Lodge, and Kallen Tomberlin of Alva; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.


Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the College Hill Church of Christ.
