Mr. Clarence Wayne Stancel, Sr. passed from this life on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the age of 71 years, 5 months, and 12 days in Midwest City, OK. 

Clarence was born December 19, 1948 in Elk City, OK to his parents Clarence and Lilly Mae (Reiner) Stancel.

Clarence graduated from Elk City High School.  He and Miss Alta Staley were married September 1, 1966 in Amarillo, TX.  They made their home in Amarillo, TX, Foss, Burns Flat and Elk City before moving to Hammon, OK where they currently reside. Clarence had many jobs in his life time including working as a gas station attendant, in an auto carpet factory and doing paint and drywall work. He was known as a good man and a hard worker.  

Clarence enjoyed his life playing the guitar and listening to country music, working on antique cars and hot rods.  He also enjoyed working crossword puzzles as well.


Although Clarence is no longer with us, his memory and legacy will be kept alive through the family and friends he leaves behind which include:  his wife: Alta of the home; mother:  Lilly Stancel of Elk City, OK; 2 daughters:  Theresa Black of Watonga, OK, Tina Marie Lancaster of Mountain View, AR; 2 sons: Clarence Jr. of Hammon, OK, Patrick Stancel of Elk City, OK; 2 sisters:  Reva Schones of Mustang, OK, Darla Wagnon of Clinton, OK; 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren as well as a host of longtime friends and neighbors and other relatives.


Clarence is preceded in death by his father.
