The wife of the deceased preceded him in death March 30, 1921.
His daughter Lola, went to Tucson recently, where he had gone for his health and he requested that he be moved to Oklahoma to spend his last days and he also requested that his body be laid to rest in the Red Hill cemetery at Hammon, Oklahoma.
During the last week of his illness he professed belief in Christ and was baptized by Rev. Tom Brobham, the Methodist minister of Pampa, Texas.
The deceased leaves nine children; one granddaughter; two brothers, G. W. Simmons of Little Blue, Missouri and A. W. Simmons of LeFors, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Wiley Gunter and Mrs. Elmer Wilker of Elk City, Oklahoma; also a host of nephews, nieces and a great host of friends.
