Thomas Joshua Burgess

Thomas Joshua Burgess was born June 13, 1883, in Wise County, Texas, and passed away June 21, 1936, at the age of 53 years, one week and one day.
He came to Elk City in 1904 and was married to Emma Z. Jennings in 1908.
To this union were born two children, Eugene of Flint, Michigan; and Orel, of the home address; one niece, Virginia Patterson, has made her home with them since April, 1930.
He came to his farm four miles east of Hammon in 1915, where he has lived until the time of his death.
He took the Lord as his Savior in December 1933 and held no fear of death.
He leaves to mourn his going his wife; a son, Eugene; a daughter, Orel; one sister, Mrs. Josie Cordum of Texline, Texas; a brother, Earl Burgess of Butler; and other relatives and a host of friends.
