Ruby, a resident of Clear Lake area of Houston, Texas, passed peacefully from this life on 23 August 2002, being reunited with her husband Jess, son Robert and great grandson Boston.
Ruby was born May 8, 1926 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Avery Word and Jo Lena Lee Word.
She grew up in southwestern Oklahoma where she had many friends and enjoyed riding horses.
She met Jess Anderson, a veteran returning from duty in the Pacific, while she was working in her father's grocery store. They were married March 9, 1946. Ruby devoted her life to the care and comfort of her family and friends. She would touch your life and stay in your heart forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Anderson of Houston, Texas; her son and daughter-in-law Jess and Jonette Anderson of Goddard, Kansas; her grandchildren Julie and Mike Moynihan and children Palmer and Jessica of Ft. Worth, Texas; Jay and Jacki Anderson and children Jackson, Jett and Jayci of Optima, Oklahoma; Jennifer Anderson and Kevin Carber of Wichita, Kansas; her brother-in-law Floyd Harmon of Cheyenne, Oklahoma as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of family and other friends.
Interment in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyennne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
