Kenneth R. Rutherford, 85, died March 11, 1984 in Shamrock hospital. Mr. Rutherford was born May 3, 1898 in Clay Center, Kansas, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rutherford.
He was married May 23, 1957 to Ida Mae Ring.
He was a retired farmer.
The couple lived in the Sweetwater community.
Survivors include his wife of Sweetwater; four daughters, Louise Bailey pf Pampa, Texas; Dorothy Venear of Shamrock, Texas; Loretta Hiltbrunner of Odessa, Texas; Wanell Harris of LaParte, Texas; two sons, Charles Matthews of Champaign, Illinois; Wallace Matthews of Houston, Texas; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Rena Swain of Brownfield, Texas; and Mrs. Gladys Goodwin of Erath, Texas; one brother, Glenn Rutherford of Sweetwater; as well as other relatives and numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Sweetwater. Officiating will be Rev. Ross Anderson.
Burial will be in the Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral home.
