Last rites for William Joseph Roberts, 81, pioneer county resident who died at 3:30 a.m. today, January 9 following a long illness, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Sweetwater Baptist Church.
He was born August 12, 1870.
Mr. Roberts was a retired farmer and rancher and lived on his farm 1 1/4 miles north of Sweetwater.
He came here in the early days and is well known here.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Inez Roberts of the home address; four sons, Corbett Roberts of Erath, Texas; Leonard Roberts of Sweetwater; Ocie Roberts of Colorado City, Texas; and Royce Roberts of Sweetwater; two daughters, Mrs. Jess G. French of Sweetwater; and Mrs. Cecil Lewis of Sweetwater; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild; and numerous friends.
Burial will be in the Mulberry cemetery with the Fatheree Funeral home in charge of arrangements.
