Irene Miller Davis was born March 17, 1930 in Wheeler County, Texas to Sarah Elizabeth and Elmer Eugene Miller and died Wednesday October 2, 1996 in the Newman Memorial Hospital at the age of 66.
Irene grew up in Wheeler County and graduated from Kelton High School.
She married Alva Jay Davis on July 11, 1948 in Wheeler, Texas before moving to Broger, Texas. They moved to Sweetwater in 1949 and lived their until 1986 when they moved to Arnett. They returned to Sweetwater in October of 1995 to make their home.
She was a member of the Sweetwater First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Rose Chapel. Interment will be in the Mulberry Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Survivors include her husband, Jay of the home; five daughters, Jackie Hagerman of Sayre; Gloria Balough of Sweetwater; Brenda Evans of Arnett; Linda Barkley of Angleton, Texas; Cheri Maples of Cherokee; three sons, Kervin Davis of Sayre; Steve Davis of Sayre; Perry Davis of Cheyenne; one sister, Doris Vineyard of Tryon; three brothers, Nathan Miller of Tulsa; Donald Miller of Tucson, Arizona; Clarence Miller of Oklahoma City; twenty grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
