Services for Lorene Gladys Smulcer Bryan were conducted on Friday, July 14, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. from the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church with J. M. Ashley, officiating. Interment followed in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Sayre.
Lorene Gladys Bryan was born June 16, 1917 at Wellington, Texas to Marvin and Laura Gould Smulcer and passed away Wednesday at the age of 83.
She came to western Oklahoma with her family when she was 6 years of age.
Mrs. Bryan attended Meridian School and was married to Hollis Albert Bryan on November 10, 1934 at Sweetwater. They farmed in the Sweetwater area all of their married life and Mrs. Bryan was not only a homemaker and farmer's wife but also a helpmate.
She was a member of the Sunny Point Home Demonstration Club and the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was also involved with Bible School.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leonard; two sisters; two brothers and a daughter in law.
Survivors include her husband, H. Albert Bryan of the Sweetwater home; a son, Arnel Bryan of Pampa, Texas; and a daughter, Patricia Blancset and her husband James of Reydon; a daughter in law, Lois Bryan of Mustang, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
