Funeral services for Mildred Katharine Carlson Allen will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Burial will be at Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
Mildred Katharine Allen was born March 17, 1908 in Crofton, Nebraska, to Cartharina Jurgensen and Eric Norman Carlson and died Sunday, October 29, 2000 in the Integris Bass Baptist Hospital in Enid at the age of 92.
Mildred Katharine Allen came to Oklahoma as a child with her parents in December of 1912 to Roger Mills County. She attended the Mulberry School and graduated from Elk City High School.
She attended the University of Oklahoma and received a teaching certificate. Mildred taught school three years at Sunny Point and Berlin and several years at Sweetwater.
She married LeRoy Allen at Erick, on May 8, 1929.
She lived in the Sweetwater Community until October of 1996.
She was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, three grandsons, three sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, LeRoy Allen, Jr. and wife Billie Faye of Clinton; one daughter, Lanelle Hayes and husband Donis of Enid; two grandsons; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends.
