Elsie M. Stewart Alexander was born March 5, 1902 in Martha, Oklahoma to Harriet and Charlie Stewart and died Sunday, April 28, 1997 in the Erick Nursing Center at the age of 95.
Services were held 2:30 p.m., Monday at the Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Ray Smart.
 
Interment will be in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County under the direction of Fatheree-Albert Funeral Home.
Elsie moved with her parents to the Meridian community and married Samuel Robert Alexander in Sweetwater in 1918. They made their home in the Meridian and Sweetwater communities where they farmed. Sam died in 1955 and Elsie moved to Wheeler, Texas until 1975 when she moved to Amarillo, Texas. In 1985 she moved to Erick to make her home.
She was a member of the Amarillo, Texas San Jacinto Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Raymond Dale Alexander, two sisters; one brother and one great granddaughter, Lori Keathley.
Survivors include one daughter, Nelda and Rayford Bowers of Loveland, Texas; one son, Truman and Maxine Alexander of Sweetwater; one brother, Neal Stewart of College Station, Texas; three sisters, Naomi York of College Station, Texas; Elmerine Burnam of Elk City; and Mozelle France of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
