Georgia Sue Nix was born April 24, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Georgia Belva and Homer Newton Ivy. She passed away November 3, 2016 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Georgia Sue, the granddaughter of a pioneer settler, grew up on the family ranch south of Durham on the Washita River that was claimed in 1892. As a young girl, Georgia Sue gave her life to Christ and was deeply rooted in her faith and the Lord's word. She attended schools at Durham and Reydon graduating from Reydon High School in 1964. After graduation, she was married and moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma where she obtained her associates degree. Georgia Sue moved back to the family farm where she worked as a secretary and a case worker for DHS and later was employed with K101. She returned to Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Medical Records. Georgia Sue worked for hospitals in Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Wichita Falls and Sayre before making her home in Elk City, Oklahoma. She enjoyed all things western including horseback riding with her horse "Smokey", barrel racing, and drag racing her 1965 Ford Mustang.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 step-son, David Nix.

She is survived by her cousins, Gordon Thomas and wife, Melba, Reydon, OK, Dana Hartley and husband, Tom, Bethany, OK, Linda Milacek, Enid, OK, Nelia Padgett and husband, Tom, Lexington, KY, Bette Petersen, Tulsa, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
