Johnathan Martin Cole

November 24, 1849 ~ July 3, 1947

Johnathan Martin Cole, better known as "Uncle Mart." was born in Tarrant county, Texas November 24, 1849 and passed away July 3, 1947 at the age of 7 years, seven months and nine days. He was united in marriage to Mary Luella Davidson November 19, 1893.

They moved to Roger Mills County in 1899. To this union were born five children, one daughter and four sons. One son, Joseph Wesley and his wife preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his passing one daughter, Mrs. Ollie May Wood, three sons, James Ira and Jessie T. Of Reydon and Robert Lee of Durham, 12 grandchildren, Vonnie, Jack and Mary June Cole, Willie, Buster, Marie, Lorene, Maxine, Perline, Joseph, J.A. And Barbara Wood, besides many friends and relatives.

He joined the Freewill Baptist church when young, kept his faith until his passing. He was a faithful father and grandfather.

Services were conducted in the school auditorium of Durham. Rev. R.K. Whittaker officiating and he was laid to rest by the side of his wife in the Fairview cemetery, Durham, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Tunnard's Funeral home.
