John Hampton Brewer

17 Jan 1875 ~ 25 Sep 1939

Funeral services for John Hampton Brewer were held Wednesday afternoon in the High School Auditorium in Durham and with the Rev. Cummings of Pampa, Texas officiating. Mr. Brewer died Monday night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.A. Blurton of the Crawford community after an illness of several months. He was 64 years of age at the time of his death.

He is survived by one son and five daughters; daughters are Mrs. Nannie Brinlee, Mrs. Maudie Ramsford, Mrs. Ella Glover and Mrs. Lee Fish, all of Florence, Colorado. The son, Hampton Brewer resides in Oklahoma City.

Mr. Brewer came to Roger Mills County in early day and resided in the Crawford community. About eight years ago he moved to Durham where he was a mail carrier for a time and later conducted a garage business. Mr. Brewer was a member of the Church of Christ.

Interment in the Fairview Cemetery, Durham, Oklahoma.
