Rae Magdalene Farley Shockey

Rae Magdalene Farley Shockey was born to Larence and Armetti Farley at Dustin, Oklahoma, on December 19, 1917. She passed from this life at her home southwest of Leedey on December 17, 1990, lacking two days of having reached seventy three years of age.
She attended Lamar School near her home in Dustin and lived there until sixteen years of age, when the family moved to Strong City, Oklahoma for two years before moving to Moorewood, south of Leedey where she lived until her marriage.
On November 27, 1937, Rae Magadelene Farley and Glen Easter Shockey were united in marriage at Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Six children were born to them, three sons, Linville Glen, Terry Dale and Joe; and three daughters, Mary Ann, Glenna Jean and Juanita Faye.
Mrs. Shockey was a homemaker, always a farm wife and mother, assuming the duties and responsiblities of her role as a wife and mother.
Her favorite interests were reading and fishing, both of which she enjoyed in her busy and active life.
At the age of fifteen years, Rae Magdelene made her commitment of faith in the Lord and became a member of the Liberty Center Baptist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, a kind and helpful friend and neighbor.
Mrs. Shockey was preceded in death by her father, Larence "Cub" Farley, and two sisters, Lucille and Joyce.
She is survived by her mother, Armetti Farley of Atwater, California; her husband, Glen Easter Shockey of the home southwest of Leedey; three sons, Linville Glen and Terry Dale of Cordell, Oklahoma; and Joe of Dumas, Texas; three daughters, Mary Ann Stigleman of Elk City; Glenna Jean Fowler of Electra, Texas; and Juanita Faye Courtney of Elk City; also fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one brother, John; and two sisters, Jackie Gray and Ramouth Lovett; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews, other loved ones and friends.
Burial in Dewey cemetery, Strong City.
