We are sad to report the death at that place of Mrs. Shell Davis, laid to rest at the cemetery at Texmo on October 6. She was a sister of Mrs. Bruce Rogers and Mrs. V.J. Sutterfield, and was a relative of the Nobles and McClung families.

Her name at time of death was Mrs. Mary A. “Pollie” Davis. She was born Mary A. “Pollie” Sutterfield in Searcy Co., Arkansas on 25 June 1884 to Allen Wayne Sutterfield and Lucinda Bervena McClung and died 05 Oct 1905 in Washita Co., OK. I do not know why she was buried in Roger Mills Co., unless she was perhaps visiting with a sister when she died. She married Shell M. Davis on 23 June 1901 in Washita Co., and they had one child, Rovena Margaret Davis, born 25 Sept 1902.
