Florence Frankie Ely was born March 3, 1916, in Berea, Kentucky to Henry Crockett and Mary Abney Ely.  She passed away December 12, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 101 years 9 months and 9 days.  

She moved to Beckham County in Oklahoma with her parents and older sister when she was 2 years old.  She attended school at Merritt, Emerson, Cheyenne, and Weatherford. 

She accepted Christ as a teenager and became a member of the Church of the Nazarene.  She married Murray Franklin Tidwell on August 3, 1936 at Sayre, Oklahoma.  To this union was born 4 sons and 6 daughters. 
 

Mary Lavinia and her husband, Jay Farber of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Murray Franklin (Frank) Tidwell - deceased and his wife Jody of Leedey, Oklahoma, Joyce and her husband, Gene Myers of Elk City, Oklahoma, David Tidwell and his wife, Connie of Guymon, Oklahoma, Sue and her husband, Bryce Berger of Cleveland, Oklahoma, Florence and her husband, Dale Decker of Edmond, Oklahoma, Henry (Buck) Tidwell and his wife, Linda of Gruver, Texas, Buster (Doug) Tidwell and his wife, Kathy of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Nancy and her husband, Fred Peterson of Blair, Oklahoma, Tenna -deceased and her husband, Jerry Swartwood of Cheyenne, Oklahoma.  
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Frank, and a daughter, Tenna.

Frankie and Murray farmed and raised these ten children in the Dempsey community. 

After Murray's death, Frankie moved to Cheyenne, Oklahoma.  She enjoyed gardening, canning and putting puzzles together as well as reading.  Her greatest joy in life was her family.  She has 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
