Martha Jane Magill Parman

Funeral services for Martha Jane Magill Parman were held in the community building at Reydon January 28, 1948.
Mrs. Parman died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T. A. Gilbert, at 2:24 a.m. January 27, 1948.
Interment was in the Dempsey cemetery, Dempsey, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. Rev. Charles Simpson of Shattuck and Rev. Horace Woodard officiated at the services.
Mrs. Parman was born November 29, 1864 at Wintersett, Iowa.
She moved with herr parents to Albany, Missouri when a small child.
She was married to Homer Giles Parman, December 24, 1885.
In 1907 she came to Oklahoma with her husband and settled in the Dempsey community where she resided until the death of her husband in 1937.
She is survived by five children; two daughters, Mrs. T. A. Gilbert of Reydon; and Mrs. Moses Whittington of Ryan, Oklahoma; three sons, F. M. Parman of Grimes, Oklahoma; A. B. and H. G. of Reydon; one sister, Mrs. C. M. McNeese of Buffalo, Wyoming; fifteen grandchildren; twenty eight great grandchildren; as well as numerous friends.
Those from a distance attending the funeral were Rev. and Mrs. Moses Whittington of Ryan. Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Parman of Poteau, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Parman Jr. of Emporia, Kansas; Mr. and Mrs. Billy Bierschmitt and Mrs. Raw Winsett of Elk City, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Dodson of Sayre, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Nat Taylor of Strong City, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Willis Erwin of Clinton, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Peters of Roll, Oklahoma; Mr. and Mrs. Julius Meekers and Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Lewtheoe of Panhandle, Texas; Mr. and Mrs. Tom Roless of Troutdale, Oregon; and L. C. Carter of Altus, Oklahoma.
