Rebecca May Erwin of Cheyenne, Oklahoma was born December 12, 1877 and departed this life November 11, 1972 at the Cheyenne Nursing Home, at the age of 94 years, 10 months, 29 days.
Funeral services were conducted from the United Methodist Church, Cheyenne, on Monday, November 13, 1972 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Benefield officiating.
She was born at New Town, Missouri and was married to William Alfred Erwin at New Town, Missouri on October 8, 1896.
They moved from Missouri to Oklahoma Territory in 1899 and homesteaded near Berlin and moved to Dempsey in 1912. In 1929, they moved to Reydon and in 1958 moved to Cheyenne.
She had been a member of the United Methodist Church since age 9.
She was also a charter member of the Reydon Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. A. B. {Julia} Parman of Reydon; and Mrs. W. L. {Crystal} Martin, of Dempsey; three sons, M. C. Erwin of Sayre; W. W. Erwin of Clinton; Amos Erwin of Amarillo, Texas; eleven grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, one son, one grandson, six brothers and one sister.
Services were conducted by Moore Funeral Home, and interment was in the Dempsey Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma.
