Opal Faye (King) (Ford) Wrignt

Opal Ford Wright was born April 19, 1921 in Henrietta, TX to Levicy Leona and William Jefferson King. She passed away at Charlotte, NC at the age of 94 on March 10, 2016.


Opal grew up in Henrietta, TX where she graduated from high school. She married J. C. (Jake) Ford at Henrietta, TX on November 8, 1940. They moved to Herring, OK and later to Berkley and Oakland, CA where she worked as a welder in the shipyards during World War II. They later moved to Anadarko, OK where she worked in the Anadarko Hospital. In 1961 they moved to Cheyenne, OK to make their home. Opal began working for Dr. Buster and continued until her retirement in 1990.
 

Jake passed away in December of 1989. She then married Chester Wright on April 3, 1990. Chester passed away in 1995. She was a member of the Cheyenne United Methodist Church.
 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.


She is survived by 2 daughters, Betty Sue Garis, Matthews, NC, and Charlene Faye Phillips, Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons, Jimmie Jake Ford, Alexander, AR, and Donnie Lee Ford and wife, Regena, El Reno, OK; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
