Funeral services for James Nathan Dewey were held Thursday, July 9, 1970, at the First Baptist Church, Cheyenne, at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Milton Gage and Rev. Fred Wollard officiating.
He was born March 10, 1931 at Crawford, Oklahoma and passed from this life July 7, 1970 at Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins and Son in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bob Cogburn, Larry Farmer, Lonnie Donaldson, Bob Trammell, Jack Campbell, Eb Bradshaw, Aaron Cantrell, George Wright, G. B. Purcell, Lee Roark, Arnold Cruze, Gene Ford, J. C. Trent, Loyd Lee Marton, Loyd Hammond, Tommy Garrett, John McLemore, David Dickason, E. L. Archer and Joe Whitson.
Survivors include his mother, Sallie Dewey of Cheyenne, Oklahoma; his father, H. A. Dewey of Alamosa, Colorado; two sisters, Sylvia Bandy of Santo, Texas; Emma Nussbaum of Raymond, Washington; four nieces and seven nephews; as well as numerous friends.
